At the buildings and yards located on the Oulujoki River islands, you can explore traditional skills, beliefs and livelihoods: farming, salmon fishing, tar burning, logging and log floating. The Ylikärppä House’s yard takes you into the atmosphere of 1900s farmer life. The Parttuainen Logging Bunkhouse introduces you to the post-war period and the everyday life of logging workers. The island is filled to the brim with stories worth remembering.
