Theme tours for primary school children
Kuusten kuiskeessa (Fin. Among the rustling trees)
Can you hear the rustle of the forest? Do you know the scent of moss? Do you want to know how people used to read and utilize the forest?
During the forest-themed tours, the guide will steer the pupils to the tune of a story taking place in the 1930s. The story helps the pupils to learn about Finnish forests and people’s relationship with forests in the past and today. The tour includes active tasks. The tour takes place on the forest path at the museum area.

Jätkäin jäljillä (Fin. In the footsteps of men)
Do you know the difference between a bucksaw and a two-man saw? Do you know what an ukkoherra or a kymppi do? What logging workers ate for breakfast?
During the tour, guides will teach pupils about the everyday life of logging workers. They will visit the Logging Bunkhouse and the forest path. During the tour, past work methods will be presented, and there will be many active tasks.
