Celebration Organizer Checklist

Some special matters should be noted when organizing celebrations in the museum area.

Please read through the checklist and discuss your questions and wishes beforehand with staff to make sure that your celebration will be unforgettable!

FACILITIES

  • If you have chosen the barn as your venue, please note that it is usually cold in the old timber building. Guests should reserve blankets for warmth, and you should tell your guests to bring warm clothing.
  • Decorating the venue tables and chairs is the organizer’s responsibility.
  • When decorating, please note that the venues are museum buildings. It is not permitted to attach anything to the building structures.
  • Using Blu Tack, tape, nails or other fastening methods that leave imprints on the walls of museum buildings is not permitted. You should always discuss the decorations with the museum staff.

BATHROOMS

  • During celebrations, you will use the same bathrooms as museum guests.
  • There are outhouses with hand-washing stations at the museum areas.
  • There is one accessible bathroom near the staff facilities. There is a separate entrance outside.

CARS AND SIGNPOSTS

  • The bridal couple may drive to the museum area. Other traffic must be agreed on with the museum staff.
  • There are some parking spaces by the barn for mobility-impaired people.
  • Removing signposts to the venue from along the roads is the organizer’s responsibility. Please make sure that the signposts are removed by the following morning.

SMOKING AND MAKING A FIRE

  • Smoking in the museum area is prohibited. There is a smoking area on the bridge to the island.
  • Outdoor fires, lanterns and open flames are not permitted in the museum area.
  • Using personal grills and the museum’s firepit site is not permitted.

OTHER

  • The Open Ari Museum area is open to museum guests during all opening times, even if there is a celebration in the area.
  • It is not permitted to stay in the museum area with museum or catering staff.
  • Venues and the yards must be cleaned, and everyone must leave the area by the agreed time.
